Man is cursed when man trusts his own course. In other words, when we make plans built upon our flesh, those plans will eventually bring forth death. As the Proverbs state, there is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death. Thus says the Lord: “Cursed is the man who trusts in man and makes flesh his strength, whose heart departs from the Lord" (Jeremiah 17:5).
