A culture that celebrates pride has died, for "pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall" (Proverbs 16:18). Conversely, the only way forward is to humble ourselves under the mighty hand of God, knowing He will lift up what is humble and He will humble what is lifted up.
