THE BACKDRAFT OF SIN

Unrestrained desire can lead to an unquenchable fire. You see, like oxygen that fuels a backdraft, so does a desire conceived give birth to sin. And when it is fully grown, death follows. And that is why we must be on guard, because sin promises pleasure and yet pays in pain and shame. "But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full grown brings forth death" (James 1:14-15).
