The significance of Christmas is so much more than just a baby in a manger. It's about a Savior who chose to touch the hearts of sinners, yet sin never touched His heart. You see, Immanuel (God with us) means God desires to identify with us. And that is why Jesus didn't just cry our tears and wear our skin, He even breathed our air and bore our sin. Yes we celebrate His birth, but more than that, we can live in Him because He chose to die our death. "For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace" (Isaiah 9:6).
