FREEDOM from DOING

FREEDOM from DOING

I was a prisoner most of my young life.  Confined to other's approval.  In bondage to performance and accomplishment.  And when I did not get the approval or perform according to accomplishment, the chains of 'doing' squeezed out the liberty of 'being.'  And whether you do or don't, you're imprisoned by the standard of did or didn't.  You see, when I did, I felt worthy.  But when I didn't, I assumed I was worthless.  However the "did" was never good enough and the "didn't" was never bad enough.  So I remained incarcerated to always doing, and always at the expense of the freedom of being. Now learning in hindsight from these past blind-sights, I realize that just being who God says I am proves that ‘being' trumps 'doing' every time. Meaning, being is liberty and inspires you to do freely, but doing without knowing your being makes you a product of mere slavery.Again, I have learned that it does not matter what you do—for “doing” without God actually equals nothing—but what matters is how God wants each and every person to know that only He can bring worth and value to your being; Thus, giving divine purpose to our doing.  He has placed a priceless value within each person, but if they are not told how much they are worth, they will never live out their beautiful being from birth.I know what to do now because I know the Who now.  And the Who I know is He who is in me that gives me my being.  My purpose.  My vision and values.  In Genesis, the Bible declares that we were created in His image and likeness.  Our being was to be His being.  His reflection. Yet, it is like Lucifer that I become when I make my doing the constant pursuing of my being.  We can never “do to be.”I challenge you to set yourself free from what you think you have to do or what you know you can't do, by recognizing the image tucked deep within you as the character of who God designed you to be. And from that point of being, you will find your purpose of doing.  It begins right now.  And guess what?  Not even by doing.  No!  It begins by allowing Jesus Christ to have your being.  Why?  Because "in Him we live and move and have our being" (Acts 17:28).Christ character . Man's liberty.
