One scroll through social media, and my heart breaks to see so much hopelessness and hate. From racism, coronavirus, to multiple city riots, evil prevails when God’s people remain silent. Yet the more we focus on the confusion and corruption of the world around us, the more such corrosion begins to live within us.
So many people are looking for answers--“What’s the solution to the worlds injustice?”--while missing the sad reality that all of this is a direct result of godlessness.
Listen, it’s not about figuring out what color matters most, because beneath the skin of every man is a colorless ghost. We need to embrace every race of life and see individuals as souls who need the Good News of Jesus Christ.
It grieves the heart of God when people argue about “whose lives matter”; only to miss the truth of how all were made in the image of the Creator. And that is why the answer to division isn't governmental advancement in human rights, but rather knowing our intrinsic value and who we are holistically in God's sight. And for those of us who call ourselves Christian, we need to put on Christ’s love and regard others above self-interest; we need to be distributors of peace and reflect the Lord’s witness.
But here is the Spoiler Alert! Peace will never exist in our land apart from surrendering to the Lordship of Jesus. And without His Word as the true scales that balance, I hate to say this, but there will also never be true justice. Want to know why? Not because of race, but because of human disgrace. Because of the rebellious state of man departing from the Creator. That, my friends, is always the common denominator.
But Church, take hope and know that God is still on His throne. Not inactive or passive, but working through those He calls His own. That needs to be you and that needs to be me, we the Church need to be the church to those who can’t breathe!
