"i invite YOU in": SWITCH the LIGHT ON

The problem with our country is NOT that evil or darkness has entered every facet of our every day culture. No! I believe the evil and darkness are a direct result of goodness and light failing to stand up and stand out within our culture. You see, evil can only triumph when good men choose to do nothing. And darkness can only prevail when light is not present. The Bible declares, “the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it” (John 1:4). The LIGHT SHINES (present). The DARKNESS DID NOT (past).  The victory has already been won; yet, it appears we are living in defeat. Nonsense!The darkness did not comprehend light, means that ever since the brightness of Christ entered the world, the darkness did not and could not overcome such a Light. The Light of Jesus cannot be extinguished because darkness did not understand light from the beginning.  God said, “Let there be light” and that word is still echoing into existence to this very day. Light stays swallowing darkness. If you were to go into a dark room, no matter how much Scripture you quote or how aggressive you fight, the darkness will still blanket the room. However, the moment you utilize wisdom and walk over to the light switch and turn it on, than you can say good-bye to the darkness.You see, when the love of Jesus is boldly switched on in our lives and lived out through our lives, then, and only then, will the life and light of Jesus overwhelm the darkness in the land. I saw this as I lived this in the darkness of prison—light did shine forth and the culture was changed because a few broken, but bold men, switched on the light of Jesus against the darkness!We can debate and pontificate all we want. We can sign laws and protest laws all we want. But nothing will ever change until God’s people change.  God left us a time-tested remedy in the Word,  “if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land” (II Chronicles 7:14).That word from the Lord is for the people of the Lord, not the people of the world!  It is up to us to stand up and stand out with the Light Switch of Jesus already turned on.  It’s time for the church to mobilize and put all differences aside. No other law should be our concern except for the law of Christ—“Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ” (Galatians 6:2).Instead of carrying opinions, why cant’ we just carry each other?
