IDENTITY THEFT at its BEST

IDENTITY THEFT at its BEST
I’m talking to the complacent Christian: The pew warmer. The Bible studier, but not doer.  Listening not applying. I’m calling out the Christian that “knows” they’re going to heaven from earth, yet have no idea what it’s like to have heaven on earth. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: complacency is no place to be. I know, because I’ve been there. I’ve been an idle Christian, which is no different than worshiping an idol disguised by religion. Complacent Christian, who would want the salvation and joy you say you have when there’s no proof that you have what you say you have?  Who cares you go to church and an occasional Bible study? Both activities don’t make you Christ --when you leave both activities with the same perspective in life. “Church N. Study,” is the complacent Christian’s best buddy.  He’ll make you feel like you’re doing the Word, but in all reality you’re only doing a verb: Expressing an act, occurrence, or mode of being.  But all of the previous do nothing when it comes to helping others go from blind to seeing. It’s not “expressing an act,” but faith is an expression of facts.  It’s not just an occurrence, but making a difference.  And being a Christian is not only a mode, but it's allowing Jesus Christ to call you His home. Do others meet Christ when they knock at the door of your character?  It’s not about just giving God lip service, but giving God your life for service.  Complacent Christian, do you have any idea how much of the abundant life that you’re missing? “Church N. Study” has you right where the devil wants to keep you.  On the sidelines of life, but satisfied to be on the bench.  Meanwhile the name you wear on the back of your jersey is getting a bad look. Like singing country music in the shower and telling everyone your Garth Brooks.  That’s called identity theft, and in the natural that’s criminal.  And like I told you before, you can never separate the natural from the spiritual. They’re intertwined, thus consider this next line---“I NEVER KNEW YOU.”Yep, Jesus said this in response to those who too only knew “Church N. Study.”  He said it like this:  “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My father in heaven.  Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name’?  And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’” (Matthew 7: 21-23).Like I said, identity theft at its best.  Complacent Christian, don’t just settle for “Church N. Study;” instead marry the Lamb of God and become the application of theology.  When you truly know Him, you’ll clearly show Him.
