It is quite easy to be discontent with the place where God has placed you. Actually, it is because we lose sight of God's grace that we fight the place where God has chosen to plant us. But when we recognize that we are right where we need to be--which means we are surrendered to God's will--we become trees of righteousness, planted by the Lord for His glory through our story and even through our agony. You see, there is absolutely no place or circumstance better than where you are currently when you’re in the center of God’s will. Again, whether God placed you where you are or allowed you to be where you are, He would not have brought you to it, unless He intended to teach you something eternal through it. I know from personal experience that the safest place to be is that which has been appointed by the Lord and the safest steps to take are those ordered by the Lord. God affirms our shaky faith and our imbalanced steps when He says in His Word, “For I, the Lord your God, will hold your right hand, saying to you, ‘fear not, I will help you’” (Isaiah 41:13). Therefore, regardless of our perspective and the surroundings that we see, when in God’s loving hands, there is no safer place to be.Perhaps these simple sentences will help you with your personal circumstances:First, He BROUGHT me here and it is by His will that I am in this straight place: in that fact I will rest.Next, He will KEEP me here in His love and give me the grace to grow as His child. Then, He will MAKE the trial a blessing, teaching me the lessons He intends for me to learn, while making me look more like His Son.Lastly, in His good and perfect timing, He can BRING me out again to make much of Himself through me to the world around me–how He will do this and when He will do this are His prerogative, which is always for my progress and His praise. Simply put: I am right where I need to be by God's grace, in His guard, under His plan, and for His purpose. And I will be content with where I am because I know who He is. He is good, always!
