MEET my COMPLAINT DEPARTMENT

“If you have any negative questions, comments, or concerns, please forward them to my Complaint Department. His name is Little John.” ✝ I say that jokingly in assemblies sometimes, and it certainly gets the audience laughing; because at this point in the presentation, they have already heard me share a story about Little John and I, which involves some prison drama and a tense showdown with some gang members.  Of course I couple the story with his picture to drive the oxymoron home about Little John--not being so little. Anyway, I’d love to share the story about Little John and me confronting some gang members as they were about to rob another inmate’s property, but you can read that story as it was recently captured in a newspaper write-up. (http://www.northjersey.com/news/nj-state-news/driver-finds-life-s-mission-in-his-tragic-mistake-1.1440881?page=all )But what I would much rather write about is how seeing Little John recently reminded me of how awesome God is! I mean, to see Little John, once a soldier for the Godfather now living as a soldier for Father God, I am quickly reminded how ONLY Jesus can change the heart of man. Any man. Who has done anything!  In addition, I am amazed how God provided Little John in my life to be such a loyal friend through such a disloyal environment.I will never forget how many times John reminded me of his calling for that season of life. He would tell me confidently, “I firmly believe God has placed me here to safeguard you.” We never really knew what that meant, except for the obvious fact that Little John always had my back. I mean, everyone in prison knew Little John was keeping a close eye on me and that kept so many shady characters from trying to turn their manipulative eye on me. John even wrote my mom one time to ease her mind about where her youngest boy was. He wrote, “While I am in here with your son, you will never have to worry about a thing.” Can you imagine the solace that  entered my mothers mind after reading such words…and then she saw his picture…second thought, can you imagine the fear that entered my mom’s heart? LOL! I’m joking obviously!In every assembly, the final 15 minutes are usually designated for a Q&A. And without fail, the students always ask about Little John.  I wonder why, out of all the questions in the world to ask, they somehow find Little John curious?  And then I realize it’s because of his background, which is in stark contrast with the story of integrity that I accredit to him in the presentation. I guess people are blown away at this hard looking mans soft heart. I guess integrity coming from someone who once lived in the midst of criminal activity is intriguing. I guess transformation is what the heart of every soul craves. So many are fascinated at the radical change.And this is why Little John’s life is a testimony of God being real. So many want proof of Gods existence, they just need to meet Little John.Now I ask you, do you have any questions, comments, or concerns? Please ask wisely!
