PEACE, BE STILL!
The worst place to be is in the midst of rough seas with no peace. It is truly unsettling to be tossed to and fro in your soul and not have an anchor to behold. Ever been there? I have. And I know this: If you are looking for peace in the storm, you won't find it. You actually have to let go of the storm -- so peace can find you. And once you let go of the chaos, so you can finally hear the voice of Jesus, you will hear and experience the power of "Peace, be still." And in a moment--that is very specific--your emotional man or woman will be sailing pacific. Not sailing on the Pacific, but sailing pacific. The word “pacific” isn’t just an ocean off the west coast of the United States. In fact, it’s called the “pacific” because it means “calm peaceful; tending to lessen conflict.”And that’s what the Pacific Ocean’s territory was strategically used for. It was the buffer area used to keep America’s soil safe as the Navy patrolled its vastness. As of late, my soul needed to find my own type of Pacific Ocean.Struggling with God in prayer about a personal issue left me anxious and troubled. But a few words whispered into my soul—“Peace, Be Still”—and I was immediately calmer, though it felt as if my SHIP had taken on water. You see, God's subtle voice became the wind that blew the sail of my soul into the pacific. Calmness. Peaceful. The SHIP’s water subsided. I tapped into the very “ocean” within that lessened the commotion without.God’s still small voice!Who am I to attempt to manage these storms on my own? The devil may stir them up, but it is God who calms us down. I know the direction that God has specifically called me to go. And His specific—His Word—is always connected to pacific—His peace.I guess I’m at naval warfare with myself and it is me versus me. Spirit versus flesh. My fleshly man isn’t trying to hear “Be Still” even though my spiritual man is receiving it, and my emotional man craves it. You see, the emotional man is dictated by the victor in this civil war.  If flesh wins, emotions lose. If spirit wins, emotions win.So for now, I remain pacific in receiving God’ specific.  He said it, thus I must sail with it.  “Be Still.”  “Be not anxious.” "Peace I leave with you."
“And Jesus said, ‘Let us cross over to the other side’…and a great windstorm arose, and the waves beat into the boat, so that it was already filling…then (Jesus) arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, ‘Peace be still!’ and the wind ceased and there was a great calm” (Mark 4:35, 37, 39).If He said He'll get us to the other side, we can trust that He'll be by our side even through a wet and wild ride.
