It all points to Jesus. Every failure and success. Every high and low. It was all written for Him and through Him. The rise and the fall of man, for redemption and salvation were always a part of God's foundational plan--"The Lamb slain from the foundation of the world" (Revelation 13:8). You see, God knew we would require a Savior to be the antidote to our evil behavior. So He sent His Son to be the beginning and the end with no end. The Alpha and the Omega which means He is before, during, and after all things as the Author, Editor, and the Publisher of all things.Even evil? Yes, there is evil in the Bible and God wrote it knowing good always needs a rival. And without evil, there is no puporse behind a spiritual revival. Don't think the Bible is inspired? Well, here's some fuel to add to the fire. If you have to be from "straight outta somewhere" to be considered reliable, than I chose to be "STRAIGHT OUTTA THE BIBLE!"Consider GENESIS 5:1-32:The book of Genesis was written by Moses in the 15th Century BC. It is the 1st book of the Bible and the 1st of five in the Pentateuch (the first five books of the Bible). The questions remains: How could a simple genealogy have pointed so perfectly to Jesus Christ, which was written well in advance to every other prophecy and the Gospels-- approximately 1500 years?
V 1: This is the book of the genealogy of Adam….
Adam means manV 3: And Adam begot a son and named him Seth….
Seth means appointedV 6: Seth lived 105 years and begot Enosh….
Enosh means subject to deathV 9: Enosh live 90 years and begot Cainan….
Cainan means sorrowfulV 12: Cainan lived 70 years and begot Mahalalel….
Mahalalel means from the presence of GodV 15: Mahalalel lived 65 years and begot Jared….
Jared means ONE comes downV 18: Jared lived 162 years and begot Enoch….
Enoch means dedicatedV 21: Enoch lived 65 years and begot Methuselah….
Methuselah means dying HE shall send’V 25: Methuselah lived 187 years and begot Lamech….
Lamech means to the poor and lowlyV 28: Lamech lived 182 years and had a son named Noah….
Noah means rest and comfortNow combine all of the meaning of the names into a sentence:The MAN appointed to death, sorrowful. From the presence of God, ONE comes down, dedicated.Dying, HE shall send to the poor and lowly, rest and comfort. Now consider these verses from the Scriptures:
“For if by one man’s offense (Adam) many died, much more the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one MAN, Jesus Christ, abounded to many.” (Romans 5:15)“For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ all shall be made alive.” (I Corinthians 15:22)“And so it is written, “The first Adam became a living being.” The last Adam became a life-giving spirit (Jesus) v45. The first man was of the earth, made of dust; the second Man is the Lord from heaven.” v47Just a meaningless genealogy? I think not. Try a text full of prophecy. It ALL points to Jesus and that's where my inspiration and conviction find revival: Ask and I'll tell you, "STRAIGHT OUTTA THE BIBLE!"
