Before any battle was led and any blood was shed, there was the great battle in heaven. A battle for the throne. Lucifer wanted to exalt his throne above the stars of God and be like Him on high (Isaiah 14:12-14). But God cast him out of heaven with the other rebellious angels, and down to earth they fell. And this began a series of battles of heaven versus hell.
First it was dethroning the dominion of God’s co-regents, this we know was Adam and Eve in Eden; and then it became a battle after battle for the throne over God’s people, good kings and evil kings ruled in Israel.
Since then, king and kingdoms have risen and fallen. All, however, serve the King and Kingdom of heaven (Psalm 103:19). But God has given man a choice on who they want to be governed by and there are only 2 options: Christ or Antichrist, truth or lies, light or darkness, liberty or tyranny, heaven or hell.
You see, the battle for thrones determines whether a government will invite heaven down or incite hell up. For a throne is either ruled by wickedness or established by righteousness (Proverbs 16:12; 25:5).
So, what’s at stake when physical battles are waged? Well, in the case of these United States, the throne of government is the war of the day. Whether people see it or not, our land of liberty is being invaded by tyranny. Because Satan knows that if he can destroy America, he can remove the only throne left that is keeping evil in check.
And this isn’t a conspiracy theory but a biblical reality. God uses nations to direct nations and correct nations (Job 12:23). And since America was founded by Judeo-Christian values, it’s this final bastion of liberty that is in the way of a one world tyranny.
Until then, the Church and Christian live under the sole authority of our Kings throne. So, while this world is not our home, we are called to invite heaven down until our God calls us home.
