If the media is the only thing that’s feeding ya, perhaps that's the reason why life continues to eat-at-ya. Empty calories consumed only produces the consuming of emptiness. You don’t need a professional dietician to tell you that what you put out is a reflection of what you took in.The physical is a manifestation of the spiritual. How we are doing spiritually can be seen by how we are performing physically. It’s all related to consumption and production. We may be a worldly success in performance, but what type of fuel are we burning in the process? The fuel of the world or the fuel the Word? A locomotive burns coals to keep it propelling forward at a high pace. Without the right source of “fuel” however, the train may still be “on track,” but it will eventually burn out, slow up, and ultimately stop. “But I’m still on track,” we convince ourselves, “so I must be going in the right direction.”But believing to be going in the right direction doesn’t necessarily take us to the right destination; nor is it indicative that we have been feeding on the right provision. “I’m on track” can quickly change to “what track am I on?” Not because the track changed, but resultingly because you can’t get rid of the pain. The emptiness of striving. Cramping and bloating from having the wrong source of fuel burning.Any athlete knows that cramping comes with the lack of water and electrolytes consumed. The athlete may be performing, but he’s burning out, not burning bright. Again, like the train on the same track, but wrong destination; the athletes on the same field, but wrong hydration. Something is off. Something is missing. In both cases, the manifested outcome is the result of their internal income. What they took in, showed itself out. Not the right fuel. Not even the right “cool.”In conclusion, the one who consumes the fuel of the Word is the one who burns brightly in this world--"You, LORD, keep my lamp burning; my God turns my darkness into light" (Psalm 18:28).
