UNDIVIDED in our WALK & TALK
If there is one word the Lord would have His children accomplish, it would be unity. Jesus said, “By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for another” (John 13:35). It is the love of God therefore that must be seen by the world--in the way believers are unified in heart and home. However, division in a Christian’s heart and home seems more common these days and sadly accepted. It ought not be. As believers, we need to stay steady relying on the Lord’s faithfulness, not just as a constant to us, but as a compass for us. In other words, we need to engage God’s character so that His character can be our gauge. We need to have a unified heart, which can only come by way of clinging to God’s heart. You see, if we are not humble, we cannot be teachable. And if we are not teachable, we cannot be accountable.  And if we are not accountable, we are dividable. In Psalm 86:11, David asks for an undivided heart, that he may fear the Lord. Essentially, David was asking the Lord for “singleness of heart.” He desired to be a man made whole, with no division within him, that there would be no division without him. He knew that a divided heart would produce divided habits, and ultimately a divided home. Conversely, David knew that a unified heart and home was the greatest evangelism tool to reach the divided world that he lived in.And the same truth applies today. We need to be undivided in our walk and talk. We need to be believers who magnify the love of God by the way we live for God.
