Our living and giving reflect our grasp on eternity. In other words, how we live and what we share reveal our eternal priorities. Thus, let us build on a foundation of faith and generosity that lasts beyond this world, as we lay hold of eternal life and honor God’s grace. "Let them do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to give, willing to share, storing up for themselves a good foundation for the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life" (1 Timothy 6:18-19).

God is not interested in our national allegiance but our national repentance. In these days of crisis, instead of turning to Him in humility, our nation's response has been one of prideful defiance. Rebuilding without addressing the spiritual decay is futile. (Read Luke 13:1-5)

There is nothing wrong with being rich; what is wrong is when our riches make us rash, reckless, impulsive, and hasty. Or as the commandment from Paul to Timothy goes, Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust in uncertain riches but in...

To use the Word of God without the Word of God is not the Word of God. Read that again. Sadly, so many take the text out of context and use it in the wrong respect. As 2 Peter 3:16 states, "as also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things, in which are some things hard to understand, which untaught and unstable people twist to their own destruction, as they do also the rest of the Scriptures." Thus, let us strive to know the unity of the Word (from Genesis to Revelation), so we can rightly divide the Word.

There is no joy in stinginess or greediness. There is only joy in being generous. As Scripture teaches, "It is more blessed to give than to receive" (Acts 20:35). You see, true joy comes from the act of giving rather than withholding, because it reflects the heart of God who generously gives to us.
